Association of Indian Muslims in Canada (AIMC) is an online space for Indian Muslims already settled in, or making their ways into Canada.
When we migrate from our homeland to a new country, we leave a lot of things behind and take a few steps back in our lives - all in a quest to find a better life in a new country. In this journey we often need emotional and other kind of support, and it's in this need that we find community among each other.
Through this community, our endeavor is to pool in our collective knowledge and help each other out in cementing our positions here in Canada.
We do this by organizing in a form of online community, publishing helpful articles, and sharing valuable resources to help each uplift spirits of our fellow members and help them move up in life.
You are welcome to explore our website, or get in touch with us if you like.
This group was conceptualized and started by Aman in the mid of 2019, after noticing that the majority of online communities for Canadian Muslims were largely consisting of muslims who were not from India.
Indian Muslims are perhaps the only South Asian Muslim community which knows what it is like to live as a minority community in their homeland. Indian Muslims know very well how to co-exist with other cultures and religions, and thus many of us often felt like a misfit among Muslims Canadians originating from Muslim majority countries.
We started off as a Whatsapp group and that’s where we hangout as of now.
Aman created the group on Whatsapp, Mirza and Shaik were the first members and admins of the group along with Aman.
